FAQ
Our answers focus on practical expectations: how sessions are structured, what preparation is helpful, and how we keep scope and privacy clear. If your question is not listed, contact us and we will reply within one business day.
Online learning is designed for repeatable practice. It typically includes structured lesson notes, clear progressions, and prompts for self-checks that do not require equipment beyond a safe, open space. Live workshops add real-time coaching: instructors can adjust cues, demonstrate progressions, and create short feedback loops (observe → adjust → re-check) that improve skill acquisition.
Both formats follow the same teaching logic: explicit objectives, a warm-up that prepares rather than fatigues, practice blocks with scaling options, and a short debrief for carryover. Our sessions are written to support mixed groups. Each drill is presented with regressions and progressions, and we explain how to select a level without judgement. The most common approach is to change the environment first (support, contact points, range targets), then adjust the load or complexity. This keeps intent consistent across levels.
We also use simple assessment-by-observation in the room: what we see informs which options we recommend, without presenting it as clinical screening. If a participant has concerns that require a regulated health assessment, we encourage consultation with an appropriate Canadian professional.
For online sessions, the essentials are simple: a clear floor area, comfortable clothing, and enough time to move at a deliberate tempo. For workshops, bring a notebook or device for cue notes if you are attending as an instructor. Hydration and a light meal beforehand are usually more useful than extra equipment.
We teach participants to self-select levels. That means choosing a smaller range or an easier version is considered correct behaviour when fatigue or coordination drops. Educational purposes only. Milan Movement Academy operates in Canada under Milan Movement Academy Canada Inc. and maintains a Toronto office for scheduling and participant support. Delivery may be live online, in-person where available, or a blended format depending on programme goals and logistics.
For Canadian organizations, we can provide a plain-language programme outline that includes: learning objectives, session length, recommended spacing, and what participants need to prepare. We do not use exaggerated promises. We describe scope, safety notes, and what the education does and does not cover.
When you send a message, we review your goals, preferred format (online or in-person), and timeline. We respond with recommended programme options and the next practical step—often a proposed session plan or a set of dates to confirm. If your enquiry is for a group, we may ask a follow-up question about cohort size and the desired teaching level.
We keep data collection minimal: contact details and the message context needed to respond. Consent is required before we contact you. See our Privacy Policy for details about retention and deletion requests.
Participant support operates Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00 Eastern Time. Live online sessions are typically planned around Canadian availability, and we confirm time zones clearly in writing. For organizations with staff in multiple provinces, we can recommend formats that minimize disruption—shorter sessions spaced across weeks tend to improve adherence.
For in-person options, scheduling is dependent on location and venue availability. Contact us with a preferred month and session length, and we will propose a realistic plan rather than an optimistic one.
For instructor education modules, we can issue a completion confirmation that records the topic, delivery format, and duration. Because education contexts vary across studios and organizations, we avoid implying professional licensure or regulated health credentials. If you need the wording aligned with an internal CPD tracking system, tell us the required phrasing and we will confirm what is appropriate.
Our emphasis is competence in teachable behaviours: cue economy, progressions, risk management, and communication standards. Educational purposes only. Information is general educational guidance. Individual outcomes may vary. No guarantees are provided. Participants remain responsible for their own decisions.
Safety in education starts with predictability. We brief the objective, show the expected shape of a drill, and provide options before intensity rises. We also teach “stop rules” in plain language: if a drill becomes uncontrolled, uncomfortable, or confusing, the correct choice is to reduce range, add support, or pause. Instructors learn how to present options without pressure so participants do not feel pushed into a level that is not appropriate.
We are an educational provider. Our content is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If concerns require clinical assessment, we recommend consulting a qualified regulated health professional in Canada.
